Kenyan Rapper Icy Lando Goes International With Sean Kingston Collaboration

Icy Lando, or as he is known in his personal life Victor Buyuka, is a Kenyan Rapper and Producer ready to shake up the rap and music scene. Having grown up in Nairobi, Kenya he first realized his love for music through his sisters. He first pursued music by joining his school’s choir, band, and eventually the Kenyan Boys Choir. While these musical experiences are not representative of the music he currently makes they did help him nurture his musical talent and abilities.

His latest song “Truth or Dare” is the ultimate club hit with a vibe that keeps you wanting more as you fall into the groove of the sound. For this track, Icy Lando brings along for the second time multi-platinum artist Sean Kingston and Australian R&B star Adrian Swish to help drive up the star element of the song.

Flights Delayed Across U.S. After FAA System Outage

Several news reports have confirmed that flights across the country have been delayed due to an FAA system outage.

The NOTAM system that alerts pilots to hazards and changes to airport facilities and procedures has stopped working, forcing all domestic departures to be delayed at least until 9 am EST or until the system is restored. The delay will allow the agency to validate the integrity of flight and safety information.

More than 760 flights were delayed within, into, or out of the United States as of Wednesday 6:30 am ET (1130 GMT), flight tracking website FlightAware showed, without citing reasons. Another 91 flights were canceled within, into, or out of the country.

“The FAA is still working to fully restore the Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) system following an outage. While some functions are beginning to come back on line, National Airspace System operations remain limited,” the FAA said on Twitter.

In an earlier advisory on its website, the FAA said its NOTAM system had “failed,” although NOTAMs issued before the outage were still viewable.

According to available reports, 21,464 flights are scheduled to depart airports in the United States on Wednesday, with a carrying capacity of nearly 2.9 million passengers.

Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa’s 2023 Black Star Line Festival in Accra, Ghana, made its historic inaugural debut with a jam-packed week of events and panels at cultural centers throughout Accra, all culminating in an explosive concert –– combining music, art, and culture. The free gatherings provided opportunities for education, enrichment, and cultural diffusion. On Friday, Jan. 6, 52,000 fans attended the monumental concert. The music & arts festival was set in the historic Black Star Square and aimed to bridge Black people and artists of the Diaspora and the globe with the continent.

“The Black Star Line Festival is more than just a celebration of Black culture and music, it’s a chance for the Diaspora to come together as a community and remind ourselves of the power that lies within us,” says Chance the Rapper. “It’s an opportunity to honor the legacy of those who came before us, and to inspire and uplift each other. The historic Black Star Square is a monument to the political freedom that Ghanaians fought for and won in 1957. Ghana was the first Sub-Saharan African country to free itself from colonialism under the leadership of its first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah –– many nations on the continent soon followed. Dr. Nkrumah was inspired by Jamaican-Born revolutionary Marcus Garvey, who believed in a free Africa and a global connection between the people of the continent and Black people globally. When Dr. Nkrumah developed Ghana’s flag and principles, he insisted that these principles were crucial for the forward mobility of its people.

The festival title’s origins were inspired by civil rights leader Marcus Garvey’s iconic Black Star Line. Founded in 1919 and operated by Black people, the line would link America, the Caribbean, and Africa, to global shipping and tourism opportunities. The Black Star Line was a symbol of pride for Africans and Black people in all ports of call. After nearly 40 years, the Ghanaian government launched their fleet with the same name, in homage to Garvey, and even added a black star to the country’s new flag.

Vic Mensa Creates Clean Water Sources for Three Villages in Ghana

Vic Mensa is co-headlining a festival with Chance the Rapper in Ghana this week. While he is there, Vic is helping the area by bringing clean water to three villages.

According to TMZ, Mensa made a previous trip to Ghana and stated that after seeing the villages’ conditions, including poor water sources, he decided to make an impact. Mensa would partner with his father, a Ghana native, to launch an initiative.

“We’re building 3 boreholes in different communities in Ghana to provide clean drinking water; the first being the Asokore Zongo in Koforidua where my family lives, which is already built,” Vic said. “The other locations are a nearby community called Effiduase and then our ancestral village in the Volta Region, Amedzofe. Most people in communities like this in Ghana experience constant waterborne diseases.”

The total population of the three areas is 226,000 people. The drilling for the boreholes will take 3-4 weeks, including 10-15 days of installation. The cost to complete the boreholes is $45,000.

According to several confirmed reports, Bob Marley’s grandson, singer Jo Mersa Marley, has died at t he age of 31. While details of his death are currently unknown, it is confirmed he was found unresponsive in his vehicle and passed away from asthma-related conditions on Tuesday.

Jo Mersa, the son of Stephen Marley, was a Grammy Award winning artist, with a career working alongside the likes of Pitbull and the Fugees. Jo Mersa jumpstarted his music career with his debut EP Comfortable (2014) followed up by his most recent output Eternal (2021).

Sea$le, WA (SOURCE)— Charity Brands Entertainment (CBE) and Segi.TV closed a strategic partnership that will stream licensed as well as co-produced content and events to more than 2.2 Million subscribers world-wide. The joint venture strategy includes hand selecting content providers that are qualified through a criteria to submit and stream through the CBE and Segi.TV network.

AOer developing corporate relationships that pay CBE upwards of $150 on a per wallet acquisition basis, Segi.TV, and CBE formed a streaming “think tank” of sorts to develop a go to market strategy to vertically integrate an offering to current CBE subscribers, which includes SWIFIN. SWIFIN’s subscriber base reaching over 192 countries developed its pla]orm for the “unbanked”. SWIFIN partnered with CBE to entertain its subscribers. Revenue drivers for the JV are programmatic ads for free content, paid subscriptions, and being paid $150 per on acquisitions.

The goal for CBE-Segi.TV is 100 views on average per subscriber per month to generate over 1 billion impressions within the first year. CBE and Segi.TV are implementing a streaming strategy and valuation framework that was created by CBE telecommunications partner M12 Telecom. M12’s founders hired RHK a third party research company that was acquired by Ovum. Ovum is one of the top telecommunications research companies in Silicon Valley and Europe.

CBE account holders get community updates, purchase premium content on demand from LIVE entertainment, world-class fashion to sporting events. The existing two million two hundred thousand (2.2MM) account holders are invited to simply opt-in through the Segi.tv wall during their monthly updates (on the 28th of each month) and familiarize themselves with Sycamore Entertainment Group Inc., the publicly traded parent company of Segi.TV. Account holders can also participate in future investments through their various digital wallets.

One of the first events to be presented directly to the account holders will be a reality show built around former And1 Streetball star “Main Event” Waliyy Dixon, co-produced by the Blacktop Streetball Association. Streetball is an extremely popular sport with mass appeal with more than 25 million active members on social media. The association kicked off a nationwide Streetball tour with a preliminary event in Newark, New Jersey, that was attended by thousands of Streetball fans. For 2023, a 20-city tour has been organized to capture viewership interest. All content produced by Blacktop Street Ball will be streamed exclusively on Segi.tv.

Just recently in the week the “TRAP” rapper popped up onto TikTok feeds everywhere with a video teasing some new music. His caption for the post is typical Big Kidd.

“GOT UR FAV RAPPER SCARED” quoted with several emojis of blood and multiple hashtags containing the words “HOSTILE” and ‘SCARY”.

Of course, Big Kidd hasn’t been entirely silent since releasing a few projects this year. Last week, the rapper put up an Instagram story that his EP was “almost done” and that he’s got some new music on the way. While not much else is known about Big Kidd’s upcoming efforts, he does have some headlining shows taking place early on in March of 2023.

As of this writing, other details about his new EP have been kept hidden from the public, could the rapper be taking his time by beginning to explore more versatile routes with music or is he putting in some serious work with the flavoured technique he is already broadly known for?

Thai refugee rapper Star2 is making a bold mark with his latest release “Up” featuring a dynamic team of rappers including Mozzy , HoodTrophy Bino, and $tupid Young.

Star2 shares a new visual to accompany “Up” that delivers a nostalgic ode to Los Angeles. Star2’s creatives, shot by Touch Films, chronicle the unique gang détente and solidarity between known sets that have existed for several decades.

The song and music video were finished in half a day, Star2 recalls – Mozzy began a one-year and one-day federal gun charge sentence at Atwater Federal Penitentiary in Merced, California a few days after the shoot. “Free Mozzy!!” Bino, Star2, and $tupid Young shout in unison when asked about the song.

This December, Burna Boy will bring his Love Damini tour to Trinidad, Antigua, and Jamaica in the Caribbean.

Burna Boy Live – the Concert Experience would make him the first African performer to ever headline a stadium in these Caribbean Islands. It would take place in Trinidad on December 16 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Antigua on December 17 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, and Jamaica on December 18 at the National Stadium in Kingston.

The African Giant continues to rule the world with his world tour, and the Caribbean Islands are not left out. He has recently received GRAMMY nominations for Best Global Music Album for “Love Damini” and Best Global Music Performance for “Last Last.”

Through hard work and determination, he was able to showcase that nothing was impossible.

Shane Martin is a citizen of Lexington, Kentucky and goes by the name ShaneBaggs. Hard work is important to him, which is why he owns a Jamaican food truck and two other small businesses. It took him quite a while to gain fame, and he was criticized for a lot of things he did. He released his first project in 2019, and it quickly went viral, receiving a lot of attention, but also receiving a lot of criticism. The more recent criticism of his work has not deterred his fans from applauding him.

It motivates Oshane when he thinks about all of the people he’s helped and all of the people who enjoy his music. The criticisms he receives just means that there will be more haters when he becomes famous. Oshane has always wanted to be the center of attention, but they also believe that they won’t like the consequences if they do that. Oshane’s goal is to serve as a source of inspiration for others because deep down in his heart, he knows that his situation will work out.

A few songs in his debut album, Time To Shine, shared a few things about his life and lifestyle, including Future Dreaming and BiggBaggs. Now, ShaneBaggs has made one with a song called HaHaHa and an accompanying music video mocking all of his haters, friends and family he enviously envied

After starting his music career, he went viral with his really long chain which gained millions of eyes and criticism. Currently, he has more than 22k followers on Instagram and it doesn’t seem like the number is going down anytime soon. He also seems to be a young entrepreneur who hustles every day in order to achieve success in the music industry. In addition to that, he is just as ambitious when it comes to running his other businesses. With such high ambitions and a strong work ethic, it will surely not be too long before we see him breaking out into mainstream rap.

Wizkid Announces Headlining Performance at Madison Square Garden

Wizkid will make his Madison Square Garden debut on Wednesday, November 16 at 8:00 PM, according to an announcement made today by Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (MSG Entertainment) and Live Nation. This will be the Nigerian superstar’s first performance at The World’s Most Famous Arena. On Friday, September 30, at 12:00 ET, general public ticket sales will start.

On September 13, Wizkid’s brand-new track “Bad To Me” was made available via Starboy/Sony Music International/RCA Records. “Bad To Me,” Wizkid’s first solo single since the release of Made In Lagos: Deluxe Edition in 2021, was created by veteran producer P2J.

With more than 4 billion global streams, Wizkid is one of Nigeria’s most streamed artists. Wizkid just achieved a significant career milestone when the RIAA granted Gold Certification to his 2020 album Made in Lagos, which has received over a billion plays. Its follow-up album, Made In Lagos: Deluxe Edition, was nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Global Music Album in 2021.

This marks the first VMA’s appearance from Bad Bunny since 2019, where he made a memorable debut performance of “Que Pretendes” with J Balvin. He scored his first Moon Person in 2018 for “Song of the Summer.”

Didjah, also known as Screwface, is a music producer and composer from the Netherlands, he is of Surinamese descent. Raised in a small city in the south, he started his production journey at the end of a very successful high school run, after which he went to university to study Artificial Intelligence.

Though clever and highly intelligent, he decided university is not the right path for him. Being an adventurous type since young, Didjah always wanted to see more of the world, to inspire and be inspired. He took a massive leap of faith on himself by dropping out, so he could go all-in on his music career and start living his best life. Known for being versatile with his production skills, he has worked on trap and drill projects with artists from all over the world.

Didjah’s music takes influences from many different artist and musical genres, some artists we should mention are Future, Lucki and the great Jimi Hendrix. He is passionate about his music but also his fitness and health. When he is not in the studio creating new music, you can guarantee to find Didjah down the gym.

Strategy KI was born ‘Reuben Leighton Kennedy’ in Southend (Essex), 1992. He is of mixed British and Caribbean heritage. He was raised by his Mother and at the age of 5 he left UK with her to travel around Europe before heading to West-Africa for a year, after which they settled in the South 0f Spain where he would spend the next 4 years before returning to UK.

During his time in West-Africa, around 6 years old, Reuben contracted a deadly tropical disease called ‘Schistosomiasis’ also known as “Bilharzia”. This disease is most frequently found throughout Africa, but also in parts of South America, the Caribbean, Asia and the Middle East. After doctors had diagnosed the illness, Reuben returned back to the UK to receive treatment. Reuben needed to under go surgical treatment to remove the Schistosomiasis which had found their way to his major organs.

In 2006, Reuben was removed from the schooling system at the early age of 13 years old during his second year at high-school. Around this time his mother enrolled him onto a local music course called DV8, where we would go on to study music production for the next 2 years. During this time the music-bug engulfed him and he was in love with the craft of sound, design and recording.

At the age of 16, he attended Northbrook metropolitan College in Worthing (West Sussex), where be studied Music Production for another two years. After graduating from College he then went on to study further in his field, now attending the University of Brighton, where again, he studied Music Production and Audio Sound Design for the next 3 years. He graduated from university in 2014 where he earned himself a Bachelors Degree in Music Production and Technology; 2.1

After graduating from university he took a little break before getting a job in a retail store selling sneakers. “Apart from music, I’ve only ever really had one job. That was working at JD Sports on the footwear department” – Strategy KI told us.

He continued by saying “I lasted just under a year working there. I knew it wasn’t for me, I had to get out and become my own boss. That’s when I started Immortal Musikk, and from there, ya dun know the rest”.

In 2015 he started to make a major impact online using such sites as Youtube and Soundcloud as his main outlets for his music and visual content. The consistency that he showed was like no other. He was slowly turning a once passion into a long-lasting career.

2016 was the year Strategy KI and his crew decided to create their own record-label under the name ‘Immortal Musikk Records’. That same year he made his debut on to all streaming platforms. The shift from Soundcloud to Spotify gave birth to the artist Strategy KI’s sound that we know today.

2017-19 he found himself down a dark path as he shied away from music and was indulging his demons back on the streets amongst all the crime, drugs and dramas that come with the territory.

During the 2019 pandemic, Strategy KI made a come-back in his music-career by evolving his ever-changing sound in to UK drill. This carried more of an authentic approach over melodically and catchy beat patterns rather than the auto-tune wave music his was previously dropping in 2018.

The fans were in-love with the way this artist had reinvented himself. Strategy KI was back and better than ever before, with a brand new sound but still remaining his signature cadence and lyrical skills.

In 2020, Strategy KI’s song ‘Get This’ was featured in a Netflix original movie entitled ‘The Beast (La Belva)’. This movie is an Italian Netflix original movie, directed by Ludovico Di Martino.

Early 2021, he dropped his single for ‘Ops Go’ on GRM Daily which now has over 35K views. He also made his debut appearance on Link Up TV with his single entitled ‘ESC’. GRM Daily is the biggest YouTube outlet for emerging artists. Link Up TV would take the runner up prize as ‘second place’ for its media outlet. Both channels are the UK’s biggest music platforms and are recognized worldwide.

In early 2022, we were blessed with a hot new single from ESC members Strategy KI and Simple Life. This single was entitled ‘That’s Just Tips’ which featured/collaborated Hip-Hop and R&B legend T-Pain.

Now with the new EP on its way, who knows what is to come next from this emerging artist. But one thing is certain, Strategy KI is a name to remember.

Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Ella Mai, and Skepta are scheduled to headline Lost In Riddim 2022. The two-day celebration of music, culture and community officially returns October 1-2 at Lake Cunningham Park in San Jose, California.

The Lost In Riddim line up released below features performances from Wale, Capella Grey, Fireboy DML, Tiwa Savage, Sean Paul, Stefflon Don, Tems and more. It’s set to be a cultural celebration offering fans a larger curated selection of worldly sounds, according to an official statement.

“As proud children of immigrant parents, we created Lost In Riddim because we wanted to offer a festival experience more authentic to ourselves and our culture. ‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ Reveals Details on New Female Protagonist Character

The next installment of the Grand Theft Auto games will feature a female lead and less controversial humor. Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature its first ever leading lady, who will be Latina as part of a main duo inspired by the infamous Bonnie and Clyde.

The game’s developers, Rockstar Games, are also reportedly planning on cutting down on the amount of racist or misogynistic jokes. A report released by Rockstar Games said they are being cautious to not “punch down” on certain minority groups, according to Bloomberg.

The Grand Theft games have often gained controversy for their use of violent and explicit content, and many fans have taken to the internet to express their displeasure with the changes.

The game’s development has been slow going, and a release date for GTA VI is expected sometime after 2024.

GORDO Announces Five-Hour Dance Set for Pershing Square in Los Angeles

GORDO, formerly known as Carnage, has set his eyes on Pershing Square in Los Angeles for a solo gig on Saturday, August 20. The show is in collaboration with Framework, one of America’s top underground house music event producers.

GORDO continues to rule the West Coast after last week’s TARAKA San Francisco announcement, which sold out in less than two hours. He has plans to turn Los Angeles’ Pershing Square into a tech-house mecca. GORDO will lead attendees on a five-hour dance journey during the event that will be infused with musical influences from his recent European Summer Tour, which saw him perform in cities including Ibiza, Tel Aviv, Athens, Mallorca, Mykonos, Helsinki, Berlin, and Vienna.

As GORDO makes his way to Los Angeles with a jam-packed discography of tech-heavy sounds, Pershing Square will add to its illustrious lineup of performances, which has previously included bands like Hot Since 82, Solomun, Four Tet, and Floating Points.

The park, which is in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, will be transformed into the best outdoor sanctuary for dance music. Before Pershing Square closes to undergo renovation, GORDO has the distinction of performing the last show there.

Three months after ending his run as Carnage with a sold-out “Thank You” tour that began at the Avalon Hollywood, moved on to take over New York City, and finished in Houston, Texas, Diamanté Blackmon returns to the city with new vitality, a new sound, a new name, and an entirely different musical experience. GORDO is ready to deliver a legendary and unforgettable performance as he now fuses his ever-expanding enthusiasm for house music with some of Europe’s finest musical inspirations. He just returned from his European Summer Tour.

The renowned R&B/hip-hop/soul music festival Sol Blume’s organizers have announced their afrobeats music festival, Lost In Riddim, which will take place this fall on October 1-2.

Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido, three of Nigeria’s top performers, will coheadline the event with other international performers like Ella Mai, Skepta, Kizz Daniel, Sean Paul, Tems, and others in honor of Nigerian Independence Day Weekend the exact same weekend.

The festival is moving to Lake Cunningham Park in San Jose, California, just southwest of its previous home in Sacramento after a successful first event last fall. The outdoor festival will have a significantly wider footprint, two main stages with non-overlapping performances for audiences, a third, much smaller tent stage, and all-day DJ sets.

This year’s festivities will be more accessible to attendees than ever thanks to the new venue in San Jose, which also provides more activations, immersive art, vendors, and space for dancing with other music lovers inside the festival, as well as more transportation and lodging options for out-of-town visitors.

International superstars like Ella Mai and Skepta, both from the United Kingdom, are notable performers outside of the afrobeats genre. A number of Jamaican artists, such Sean Paul and Koffee, have also been added to the lineup, along with hip-hop artists like the Grammy Award-winning rapper Wale, who is from Washington, D.C.

Back in March, the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper shared details about the BTS collaboration. “The BTS experience you keep talking about. I’m going to let them tell you about it. It’s official like a referee with a whistle. I love that entertainment world. It’s good music. It’s a vibe. I make good music. They make good music. And we ended up doing this. This is what it’s always about, bringing our worlds together,” Snoop revealed.

“Bad Decision” is the first single off Blanco’s upcoming third album and features the legendary west coast rapper alongside BTS vocalists Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. The song is scheduled to drop August 5.

“Chris Gayle is set to headline a new reggae compilation album, Lauryn Hill, Jason Derulo, Including King Tiger, Redman and Ali Starr – have a Soundtrack & Score together for “DOGGMEN The Motion Picture” Starring DMX his last final film ever will be featured on Tropical House Cruises To Jamaica: The Asian Edition”.

Chris Gayle‘s album debut comes on the Billboard-charting reggae series, Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica compilation album, which is launching an Asian Edition called ‘Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica: The Asia Edition.’ The project includes several prominent artists, including the iconic Lauryn Hill, Morgan Heritage, Jah Cure, Capleton, Kali Ranks, Jason Derulo, King Tiger, and Malaysian reggae artist Sasi the Don.

The album is produced by Jamaica’s top producer of the moment, Sean ‘Contractor’ Edwards, and is set for release in July. According to Contractor Edwards, Gayle is the headlining artist and has been chosen for a strategic marketing move as he not only debuts worldwide but is also building out his brand in music as he capitalizes on his sports platform. “Sports and music go together and to have our sports stars dive into music and invest in it is good for our local industry and the world. I also like the fact that Gayle is enjoying his passion and it’s an honor to have him on the album,” Edwards told Urban Islandz.

Gayle’s song called “Gimmi Your Love” features artist Shav A. In an exclusive interview, the cricketer, who is the all-time highest run-getter in the history of T20 cricket, shared that he was looking forward to his first major project debut. “It would be great to have the Universe Boss on the album and it’s looking to target the Asian market, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lank,” the cricketing legend said. “Those are my grounds, I’ve been so dominant on the cricket platform so yea with music separate from cricket it should be something new for the people on the Asian side, I’m excited about it and I’m looking forward to it,” he added. Gayle goes by the moniker “Universe Boss,” which he acquired due to the notoriety from his batting skills as a cricketer. The artist says he’s looking forward to fans enjoying the album.

“It’s a great look, it’s a big look to be featured on Contractor’s new album. I’m excited, first time featuring on an album, hopefully, it can reach the Billboard and more things can gwan for the Universe Boss. The album will be lit, Asia, we coming!” Gayle told Urban Islandz.

The father of one also shared that since his journey into music; he has received support from his spouse, particularly his daughter, who enjoys his music. He continues to play cricket but notes he has been spending a lot of time in the studio in the last year as he says he discovered the joy of making music.

“[I’m] Still playing professional cricket but I discovered music since the global health crisis which has affected free movement for the past nine months. Stylo G approached me to do the “Too Hot” Remix. I thought he was joking and he said ‘Yes I am serious’, the passion started then and the feedback I was receiving from friends, fans and family was spectacular. I find it more fun composing music than listening to it,” Gayle said. As for what his favorite genre of music is, Gayle says he doesn’t have a particular genre of music he prefers, only that he loves creating music others can enjoy.

“My style of music is relative as it applies to all genres. Dancehall crossover, it’s still a learning process and I know I do have a long way to go,” he said. “Being creative it’s not just a life it’s way more fun than that, the way how you can play with the words to create a song is amazing,” he added. As for whom he looks up to, he notes, “no one, in particular, I am a genuine music lover. I listen to everyone I am always vibing to whichever single is out, I listen to all types of music.” Gayle is among a growing number of athletes who are showing that they are multitalented. “Chris Gayle is certainly a huge asset to Jamaica and a central figure in the engagement of Asians, particularly Indians,” Mr. Bartlett tells JIS News. “When you call his name in India it is magic, so whatever important values he brings to this engagement, however it can enhance Jamaica’s presence in that market, that is something we are not about to pass on,” he says. “I just want to say that Asia is the next frontier for us, and we have already started working in India, and we have an agent in India. We will be calling on Chris, as we know that he is an icon in the cricket space in that beautiful country,” he adds. The Tourism Minister says that Asia, including the Middle East, is one of the newer markets that the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) has been pursuing, adding that “we will not be shy about using some of our iconic weapons such as Chris Gayle to assist with our marketing”. “It is something we have at our disposal… something that few of our competitors have – global stars with huge international followings. Chris Gayle’s venture into music and the fact that Asia is one of his main target markets can only mean great things for our music, culture, and tourism,” the Minister notes. The Asian market has been growing exponentially and has taken on renewed interest. The largest continent in the world, with a population of 4.5 billion people, Asia is diversely rich in people, culture, and resources.
Over the last few decades, the Asian economy has seen rapid growth, outpacing many western markets and presenting myriad opportunities for investors to capitalize. The technological boom, the decline in poverty, and the rise in income levels have made the Asian market attractive. Mr. Bartlett’s endorsement of Mr. Gayle, who now plays mostly 20-20 cricket, comes at a time when the self-styled ‘Universe Boss’ will be a featured act on a compilation album, titled, ‘The Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica: The Asian Edition’. The album, which will be promoted heavily in Asia, is set for release very soon and features international acts such as R&B singer Jason Derulo, King Tiger, Lauryn Hill, Ali Starr, (Rapper) Redman, Lady Marga MC, Gentleman, (Grammy Award Winner’s) Morgan Heritage, Sashi the Don and many more. For his part, Mr. Gayle, in a recent interview with reporters at the release of his new single ‘Gimme Your Love’ says he is not only thrilled to be making the transition from cricket to music but feels the foray into the Asian market is “a win-win” for both himself and Jamaica.

“I am so excited about the new single and to be featured with these great icons on this equally exciting new album. It is true that I have a name and a huge following in Asia, having done very well in the Indian Premiere League over the years. Not only will this album be promoting our music in Asia but will also be pushing the Jamaican brand and which will make it easier to market our tourism product,” he says. Meanwhile, Multi-Award Winning Executive Producer Sean “Contractor” Edwards says that Mr. Gayle’s association with the album “will guarantee” huge record sales in the Asian marketplace and provide a “major boost” for the local tourism industry. “The album is targeting the Asian countries of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia where Chris Gayle is basically idolized as a sports icon. We anticipate a lot more sales from this project than any other album I have released,” Mr. Edwards points out.

In addition to Gayle, Australia’s Donald Bradman, India’s Virender Sehwag, and fellow West Indian Brian Lara, are the only batsmen in the history of Test cricket to have scored more than two triple centuries.

Meet Amaka Kai’ro, the Igbo Princess of Afro Trap. Her family is originally from Nigeria, but she was raised in Saint Louis, Missouri. She maintains a strong belief of keeping her original roots that heavily influence her music. Her music career started after she met P Diddy at a mansion party last summer; her talent didn’t go unnoticed. Her proudest accomplishment is being able to write songs for others. Amaka merges African beats with trap music and she uses the multicultural life she lives as inspiration.

According to Amaka Kai’ro, “life is easy”. From what we are seeing from her, that statement is as accurate as it gets. She will not stop until she gets to the top. She is the only female in the Afro trap genre that is taking over the world; there is no one that even comes close. You might be able to try to compete with her, but nobody will be able to put a curveball in her destiny for greatness within the music industry. Amaka is on headline after headline, conquering the world with her African inspired beats. Her goal in the music industry is to one day win a grammy – and with her talent, it looks like she will be headed for multiple awards.

Amaka Kai’ro is currently an independent artist who is musically inspired by Jennifer Lopez. She would like to collaborate with her to release music that would make jaws drop. Both JLO and the Igbo Princess both make people feel empowered and that’s exactly what Kai’ro wants her listeners to take away from her music. Pxrv, West London producer (Parwinder Marway) is back with an infectious new single entitled ‘Summertime’ featuring the talented Cartier Ricks and LoadB Muni.

Pxrv is a big stickler for never being boxed off as an artist. With a whole host of musical

inspirations, it’s clear that he has developed a multi genre pallet.

His sound is more urban – reminiscent of the big city. His music has hints of Hip-Hop, R&B and Afro-Swing, and a slight nod to his classical training, all coming together to create his unique offering. Pxrv embraces his North Indian heritage, having trained for some time in classical North Indian music and has been brought up around the dense, traditional Indian framework of classical music and instrumentation. His music identity is also present in his latest offering ‘Summertime.’ Whilst an Afro Hip-Hop single at heart, the tracks tinges of R&B can be found within it’s heart-warming synths that glimmer in the mix – giving kudos to Pxrv’s crisp production.

Moody drums drive the single forward and provide a strong foundation for Cartier Ricks and LoadB Muni to bring their touch of UK hip-hop magic. The chorus vocal melodies are infectious and also prove that the single has the potential to be a club anthem.

Speaking to us about the release he says: “Summertime falls into genres like Pop, Afroswing, and UK Rap/Hip Hop. Taking inspiration from artists like Burna Boy and Wizkid, the track heads an afro style hip hop beat with vocals from Cartier Ricks and LoadB Muni finely polishing the overall product with that touch of UK Hip Hop.”

Part of the “LoadB” collective, Pxrv is the in-house track engineer and composer and their first collaboration came as the track entitled “Callin” in 2019 with Cartier Ricks and Jmuni (LoadB Muni). Since then the team has been hard at work in building a catalogue of quality music. With “Callin” getting some plays from some pretty serious tastemakers, it’s all up from here.

Audiomack Expands International Presence with Launch of Audiomack Punjabi

Audiomack Punjabi, a new vertical focusing on enhancing the renowned genre, introducing it to new audiences, and delivering diverse playlists spotlighting the region’s most popular modern musicians, was launched today by artist-first music streaming service Audiomack.

Punjabi will now be available alongside hip-hop, Afrobeats, Latin, Caribbean, and other popular genres on the streaming service. Punjabi Verified, 808 Pind (Village), Ishq, Party Pataka, Punjab to Canada, Punjabi Duets, and more will be added to the newly launched playlists, which will be updated regularly.

Amrit Maan, The PropheC, Himmat Sandhu, Ezu, Jasmine Sandlas & Gur Sidhu, Karan Aujla, Himanshi Khurana, and Baani Sandhu, as well as the late-great Sidhu Moose Wala, will be the initial cover stars of Audiomack’s playlists.

Australian Rapper Little Jase Determined To Overcome Drug, Money, Gun Charges

Melbourne Rapper Little Jase was charged with trafficking a large commercial quantity of drugs, firearms and dealing with proceeds of crime following a major investigation between Australian Federal Police and Drug Task Force in late October 2020.

The raid which took place in a short term rental apartment in St Kilda saw detectives from the drug task force seize several firearms, cash and drugs. The incident has put a roadblock on the Scottish-Filipino’s rapper’s plans to relaunch his music career. However, despite the setback, Little Jase has recently been seen back in the studio according to his instagram page showing his fans, he’s determined to move past this incident and to continue creating new music.

Little Jase’s underbelly affiliation and difficult upbringing

Little Jase, also known as Jasen Keane, grew up in commission housing in the inner city suburbs of Prahran and St Kilda where drugs, violence and crime were reoccurring themes in his upbringing. Jase’s late father, Roger ‘Jock’ Keane, was considered to be an underworld figure who worked closely with some of Melbourne’s notorious gangland criminals, including Charlie Hegyaljie, also known as Mad Charlie. Charlie was known to run in the same circle as Mark ‘Chopper’ Read. In September 1998, after being released from jail Charlie was murdered outside his Caulfield home with what detectives believed was an orchestrated killing.

Little Jase was only 13 at the time when this incident occurred. However, no stranger to the underworld, Little Jase soon found himself involved in his own string of criminal activities. Little Jase experienced several run-ins with the law before he reached his teens, including being raided by Detectives from Melbourne’s Criminal Investigation Unit in 2001. He was also charged for an attempted murder case over an event which took place in late 2000. These charges were eventually dropped.

Little Jase and his inspiration to live a better life

There is no denying Little Jase’s environment played a pivotal role to the rocky upbringing he experienced. Determined to create a better life for himself, Little Jase turned to his love for hip-hop to break free from the life he has always known. He would listen to albums such as Jay-Z’s ‘Reasonable Doubt’ and relate to the lyrics in Jay-Z’s raps, which felt reminiscent of his own life. Little Jase drew from his own life experiences and spent his time and energy writing raps and performing wherever he got the chance to. He had a clear vision in his head. One day he would perform in large arenas full of people and spit raps about his troubled life and the dreams he hoped to achieve.

Little Jase’s music history and his passion to perform across the globe

What started out as a dream quickly became a reality for Little Jase when his rap career took off in his early 20’s.

In 2013, Little Jase performed at the Araneta Dreams Show in Manila, Philippines in front of over 5,000 fans. His dreams were well and truly coming true. Little Jase also traveled to Los Angeles in 2017, to compete in the LA Rap Contest hosted by Sellassie, where he was judged by hip-hop legends like Aceyalone, an original member of the Freestyle Fellowship. The contest saw Little Jase take first place by beating several LA native rappers including YouTube freestyle sensation Harry Mack.

In 2019, Little Jase was the opening act for TYGA’s Melbourne concert which was held at Margaret Court Arena. Jase rocked the crowd with some of his original tracks in front of over 7,000 people.

Little Jase’s role in pioneering hip-hop in Melbourne, Australia

Little Jase is a resident of Australia’s well loved cultural city of Melbourne. Through his understanding of what life can be like without the silver spoon at your table, Little Jase spent his spare time mentoring underprivileged youths interested in hip-hop music. Over the last two decades, Little Jase’s influence and music has been a catalyst for hip-hop in Australia, pushing it to new heights. Considered one of Australia’s hip-hop OG’s, Little Jase’s leadership in the hip-hop music scene has created a platform for other people in similar circumstances, to find a positive and creative outlet, for the frustration and challenges they might be facing.

In the early 2000’s, Little Jase helped establish the ‘Burn City Crew’ which included Jase and three other Filipino rappers M.E.C, Callie Castro & Yung Philly. Little Jase also launched his own independent record label BAKESHOP Music Group where he set up an office and studio in South Melbourne. Several hip-hop artists previously recorded tracks in the studio including 360 and Lloyd.

Little Jase also released several mixtapes of his own including the ‘First Slice’ (2012) and the ‘Second Slice’ (2018).

Little Jase still focused on international rap career

There is no denying Little Jase’s talent, Complex AU compared his single “Barz & Facts” to hip-hop legend NAS’s “Ether” arguably, one of the best diss tracks in history.

Despite the looming drug, gun and trafficking charges against Little Jase, he has shown resilience and commitment in his recent Instagram content which focuses on the development of new music.

Last year Little Jase rebranded BAKESHOP to No Plan B, an ode to his career in hip-hop and his mission to reinvent himself and usher in a new sound.

Rapper and musician TOMORO, also known as KING TOMORO, is one such artist who was inspired by hip-hop to step into the music industry. While Ratan Tata congratulated Eknath Shinde on being appointed as the new CM of Maharashtra, he was also overwhelmed to meet the industrialist. Their meeting was significant as Shinde along with Deputy CM, Devendra Fadnavis recently announced about the state government creating an investor-friendly atmosphere aiming to make Maharashtra a $1 trillion economy.
