Born and raised in Queens, NY, Meyhem Lauren has long been one of the culture’s most reliable brands; built from quality, consistency, and flavor.  The multi-media artist and personality takes pride in expressing himself artistically from a raw and unfettered perspective.

DJ Muggs is a West Coast legend. He is the Creator and Producer of Cypress Hill, the Producer of House Of Pain’s “Jump Around”, Ice Cube’s “Check Yourself”, as well as tracks with MF Doom, Westside Gunn, Action Bronson, Conway The Machine and many, many more, and the multiple time Grammy award nominee is more active than ever.  In the last few years alone he has released projects with Mach-Hommy, Roc Marciano, Yelawolf, Rome Streetz and Jay Worthy; and he’s currently put the finishing touches on the forthcoming Soul Assassins 4 album.

Madlib has become one of the most celebrated, prolific, and eclectic artists in hip-hop since emerging on the scene in the early 90’s.  The unique sound and feel of Madlib’s work has made him a valued collaborator with a number of leading performers, and a widely praised figure in the rap community.  Madlib has already released Liberation 2 with Talib Kweli and In The Beginning, Vol 3 with Declaime this calendar year.

The trio’s recently released collaborative project, Champagne For Breakfast, is jointly produced by Madlib & DJ Muggs and features appearances from Action Bronson and Hologram.  Now, they return with a new visual for “African Pompano.”

Meyhem Lauren x Madlib & DJ Muggs Champagne For Breakfast is now available via Soul Assassin Records.

On this date 30 years ago, B Real, Sen Dog, and DJ Muggs, better known in the Hip Hop world as Cypress Hill, dropped their self-titled debut album on the Columbia/Ruffhouse imprint.

With the in-house production of the now legendary DJ Muggs, Cypress Hill used their Latin lingo from their South Gate, Cali neighborhood to capitalize off of the ever-growing attraction to West Coast Hip Hop. Cypress were pioneers in bringing the LA gang life through a Hispanic perspective to the forefront, mixing their Spanglish and Cali gang slang for a perfected concoction of the Cypress Hill experience.

Some of the stand-out tracks from this album include “The Phuncky Feel One”, the murderous, but melodic “Hand On The Pump” and the infamous classic smash “How I Could Just Kill A Man”. The album is certified platinum by the RIAA and was named as one of the 100 Best Rap Albums by The Mind Squad.

Salute to Sen, B Real, and DJ Muggs for laying down the blueprint in this coveted Hip-Hop classic!

Cypress Hill Ready to Set the World A Blaze with 'Elephants On Acid'

It’s been a while since the ever so legendary Cypress Hill (B-Real, Sen Dog, Eric Bobo, and DJ Muggs) released something as a whole unit, eight years to be exact. Those years are about to come to a halt, with their ninth studio album that is set to take the hip-hop world by storm this Friday.

Elephants On Acid is a twenty-one-track monster, with guest appearances from the likes of Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda and Rage Against the Machine’s gifted guitarist Tom Morello (who also plays with B-Real in their group Prophets of Rage with Public Enemy’s Chuck D). The album is set to deliver a psychedelic trip into the world of rap music, using jazzy instruments, lead guitars and other instruments to set the mood for one hell of a ride! “Band of Gypsies” was the first taste of the album, with a video being released for the lead single early August. The video is set in Egypt and gives a good insight into what to expect.

Not only is Cypress Hill reviving themselves in the studio, but also on stage, as they plan to embark on a world tour this fall which includes dates in North America, South America, and Europe. Pre-orders for Elephants On Acid are available on iTunes as it nears its release. September 28, save the date!

Kanye West Gets Shot in DJ Muggs, MF Doom's Video 'Assassination Day'

DJ Muggs recently dropped Soul Assassins: Dia del Asesinato, his first solo collection since 2013, and the album’s standout track is “Assassination Day” featuring MF Doom and Kool G Rap. Muggs released the visuals for the record on Friday and it portrays Kanye West getting gunned down.

The highly contrasting visual opens to the tune of a dismal guitar circle, with the shooter loading his rifle into a “Leon’s Cleaning Service” van and heading to his post. En route, he watches police abusing a cuffed Black man and protestors holding up a sign that reads, “Slavery Was A Choice” before, at last, pulling the trigger at a presidential crusade rally. Yeezy takes a shot to the head, meanwhile, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are seen cracking up on the television screens.

Lyrics clear the pipes like Drano/Witness pure hate like spit goin’ over Raimo/A good response would be to wave ‘hi’ like Maino/Or it could be whatever dog—Bingo was his name-o,” Doom raps.

Aside from the Kanye cameo, Muggs tapped New York legends and upstarts alike for his most recent full-length including, Raekwon, Mayhem Lauren, Mach-Hommy, Hus Kingpin, Eto and Freddie Gibbs appear alongside Doom and Kool G.
